Ingredients:
Cilantro for garnishing (fine, chopped)
1 tsp. Cumin Seeds
2 nos. Onion (medium, chopped)
½ lb. Prawns
2 cups Rice
Salt to taste
2 nos. Tomato (large, chopped)
¼ cup Vegetable Oil
6 nos. Green Chilies (chopped)
¼ tsp. Turmeric Powder
½ tsp. Lime juice
¼ tsp. Red Chili Powder
1 tsp. Coriander powder
Coriander leaves for garnishing
1 tbsp. Ginger/Garlic paste
Method:
1-Wash rice
and soak in water.
2-Clean and wash the shrimp and marinate it with
half of red chilli powder, half of ginger-garlic
paste, salt and all of the lime juice. Set aside.
3-Heat oil in a large cooking pan and add cumin
seeds. Let it splutter.
4-Now add onion and green chillies. When the onion
starts turning brown add tomatoes.
5-Fry for about 5-7 mins and then add ginger-garlic
paste.
6-Stir well and then add turmeric powder, red chilli
powder and coriander powder. Stir well and then add
cilantro.
7-Mix well and then add the marinated shrimp. Stir
well. Now add water and let it boil.
8-In the mean time drain the water from the soaked
rice. When the water boils add rice to it.
9-When it starts boiling, lower the heat, close the
lid and let it cook on low heat.
10-After about 15-20 mins open the lid, stir the
rice and press a grain or two.
11-If it is done, cover it and put off the heat
after about 2 mins.
Serve hot garnished with cilantro.
