Ingredients:
Cloves: 8
Peppercorns: 8
Red chillies: 6
Large potatoes: 4
Tomatoes: 3
Large onions: 2
Coconut: 1/2
Mutton: 1/2 kg
Oil: 1 cup
Coriander leaves: 1 cup
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tb
Turmeric powder: 1 ts
Poppy seeds: 1 ts
Coriander seeds: 1 ts
Aniseeds: 1 ts
Salt: To taste
The Steps:
Pre - Preparation :
1) Peel and halve the potatoes and chop the onions.
2) Grate the coconut and clean and cube the mutton.
Preparation :
1) Add salt, turmeric and ginger-garlic paste to
the meat pieces.
2) Mix well and reserve for an hr.
3) Heat 2 tbs oil and add cloves, peppercorn, poppy
seeds, coriander
seeds, aniseeds and red chillies. Brown.
4) Add onion and brown.
5) Add coconut, tomatoes and brown. Cool.
6) Grind to a paste and reserve.
7) Heat remaining oil in a pressure cooker and add
meat and potatoes.
8) Stir-fry till brown.
9) Add masala paste and salt.
10) Add water if needed and pressure-cook till meat
is soft.
11) Remove from the cooker into a serving pot.
12) Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with
chapaatis.
