Ingredients:
Gram flour: 1 cup
Maida: 1 cup
Urad dal: 3/4 cup
Sugar: 3 cups
Oil: To fry
Cardamom: 6
Food colours pink, green, yellow, orange
The Steps:
Pre - Preparation :
Powder the cardamom.
Preparation :
1) Soak urad dal for 2 hrs and grind like that
for idli.
2) Add the gram flour and maida to this and mix.
3) Take small quantities of this flour in several
vessels and mix the
various food colours in each of them.
4) Make sugar syrup by heating sugar and water in
the ratio 1:1.
5) Make it into a thick syrup. Heat oil.
6) Hold the boondhi plate over the oil and gently
rub the flour on the
boondhi plate so that boondhis are dropped into the
oil.
7) Deep fry the boondhis, remove and add it into the
sugar syrup.
