Chilly Mutton

Cooking time :  40 Minutes
Serves Many
 

Ingredients:
Mutton 200 gms
Onions 1/2 cup chopped 
Turmeric powder 1/4 tspn
Cumin seeds 1 tspn
Cloves 5 nos
Cinnamon 3 pieces medium size 
Red chillies 4 nos
Ginger 1 tbspn chopped 
Groundnut oil 4 tbspns
Curry leaves 1 sprig
Mustard seeds1 tspn
Yogurt 2 tbspns
Tomato puree 3 tbspns
Salt use as required

Method:

1.On a tawa roast red chillies, cloves, cumin seeds and the cinnamon on a tawa over a medium flame for 2 minutes stirring constantly. 
2. Remove from the flame and powder the cloves and the cinnamon in a blender. Keep aside. 
3. Grind half the onions, ginger, red chillies, cumin seeds, yogurt and the turmeric powder to a fine paste. Keep aside. 
4. Heat the oil in a pressure pan. Add the mustard seeds. When they crackle add the onions and the powdered cloves and the cinnamon. 
5.Fry over a medium flame for a minute .Add the ground ingredients, curry leaves, salt and the mutton. Fry for 5 minutes over a medium flame. 
6.Close the pressure pan and cook till the mutton is cooked (approx about 2 whistles). 
7. Open the lid and cook till all the water has evaporated. Now add the tomato puree and fry for 4 minutes over a medium flame. 
8. Remove from the flame and serve hot.
